The consumption of health-related information consumption is similar to eating a healthy food diet. Health information can be healthy (legit information) or unhealthy (misinformation) based on how an individual consumes it. The module will explore the components of a health information diet to explain how one can choose healthy or unhealthy information choices. The module will further focus on the salience of listening to and communicating science in the health domain and highlights how communicating science has become a prerequisite to health response strategy.
By the end of this module, healthcare professionals and workers will be equipped with a health misinformation checklist which can act as an anchor in day-to-day activities to address health related misinformation. Furthermore, the module will also highlight the expert advice on how to deal with health misinformation.
